Prof. Göle was born in the United States in 1948. After completing his secondary education at TED Ankara College, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University in 1969.

In 1970, he began his academic career as a research assistant in Commercial Law at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University. He completed his legal internship in 1971 and received his PhD in Law in 1975 from Ankara University. In the same year, he fulfilled his military service as a reserve officer. In 1976, he went to the Indiana University School of Law (USA) for two years to conduct research for his associate professorship thesis. He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 1982 and was promoted to full professor on April 11, 1989.

In addition to his academic activities at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Prof. Göle taught in the graduate and doctoral programs of Ankara University Faculty of Law. He also taught Commercial Law at Dicle University Faculty of Law (1985–1986), Bilkent University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (1991–1993), and at Middle East Technical University and Eastern Mediterranean University between 1983 and 2012.

Between 1989 and 1991, he served as Chief Legal Advisor to the General Manager at Turkish Iron and Steel Enterprises. He was Vice Dean (1989–1993) and served as Dean for 18 years and 5 months (1993–2012) at the Faculty of Political Sciences.

Prof. Göle served as Chairman of the Board of Ankara Tennis Club (1993–1996) and Turkish Tennis Development Foundation – TÜTEGEV (1996–1997). Since 1983, he has also served as a board member of METU Development Foundation, TED Ankara College Foundation, and Ankara University Development Foundation. He was a board member of the Turkish Fulbright Commission (1999–2004).

Between 2005 and 2010, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University. He was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Press Advertisement Agency (2007–2009) and later a member of its Board of Directors (2009–2013).

Having served as chair and member of arbitration panels in national and international disputes, Prof. Göle is a member of the National Division of the Istanbul Arbitration Centre. He also continues to serve on the Board of the TED University Foundation and the Honorary Board of the TED Ankara College Alumni Association.

Prof. Göle retired on February 1, 2015, due to the age limit. He currently continues his academic career as a faculty member in Commercial Law at Atılım University Faculty of Law.

He has published numerous books and articles in the field of Commercial Law.
